Well, we definitely had an interesting week. Monday we took Tate down to Riley for pre-op, and after an entire day of being poked and prodded, the surgeon came in to tell us that surgery would be risky for Tate's size. They would like to put a size 18 conduit in Tate's heart, and the size he is right now, he would need a 10. He needs to gain 5 pounds, and we have until Spring to do it. The Fontan procedure they will be doing is going to be a little different than normal though, they are doing an "Extracardiac Conduit Variation of the Fontan Procedure", which basically means they are going to connect his pulmonary artery to a small piece of Gore-Tex. There's also some talk about a pacemaker.
I finally got my internet turned back on, which is a relief... I have an actual connection to the outside world again! :) Thank you for all your prayers for little Tate... we love you all...
